FAQs

Would the public have access to the buildings?
Since the public are not being polled for their opinions as to which building or project should be the recipient of the Governor’s Award, there is no need to limit or grant access outside of the normal accessibility of the particular building being nominated. Obviously, it would be counter-intuitive for the Governor to make an award to a building or project that is normally a secure building with limited public access (except in the case of a deserving residence or group of residences).

Would the Judges have access to the project being reviewed?
Judges will make their selections to the Short List based solely on the PowerPoint presentation submitted in support of a Nomination. The Governor will be persuaded to make her Award (if any) from the shortlisted nominations on the basis of the PowerPoint presentations as submitted.

How many slides should the PowerPoint presentation consist of?
The overall submission presentation should not exceed 20 slides, but may be shorter.

How technical does the presentation need to be?
Include only data and charts absolutely essential to understanding the project’s technical aspects or innovations where appropriate. Simple statements on the project’s technical or environmental performance are preferable to dense data sets.

Are videos, embedded or otherwise, acceptable as part of a presentation nomination?
Videos will not be accepted as part of the nomination or judging process.

How do I ensure that my nomination reaches the Judges?
Nominations and entry presentations in ‘Power Point’ format only, should be loaded onto a memory stick (or copied onto a CD-ROM) and delivered with the completed and signed Entry Nomination Form.

Nominations and entry presentations may be delivered to:
Governor’s Award, c/o Garth Arch, Arch & Godfrey, 49 Mary Street, George Town, Grand Cayman
